Chef Roland Glauser of Charlotte Lane Café wins at Saltscapes Expo

Throughout the weekend of April 29- May 1, the Taste of Nova Scotia stage hosted the Cutting Edge Culinary Competition. Ten chefs, two at a time, each with a volunteer sous chef from the audience, had 45 minutes to prepare a meal featuring 5 black box Taste of Nova Scotia ingredients. Teams of judges along with the audience cast their ballot at the end of each of the five competitions on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. And at 4:30 pm Sunday afternoon, with the votes tabulated, the winner was announced. Roland, who luckily was still in the city before driving home to Shelburne, was able to accept his award in person which includes a feature article in an upcoming Saltscapes Magazine, along with a full set of Grohmann Knives and of course, bragging rights!
